SPIEL, Essen – Hall 6 Booth D411
This is the first year we’re having a stand at SPIEL. Together with Key Card Games we will be showcasing River Rats and Monsters of Loch Lomond.
We’d love to meet you there! So come by our booth in Hall 6, D411.

Stamp Showdown update
In my last newsletter, I introduced the upcoming game Stamp Showdown.
It’s a design by James Ernest who is known for games like Lords of Vegas, Tak, Light Speed: Arena and 252 other designs. James has been developing it further in the past weeks, and has fine-tuned it to an extremely elegant and fun game.
Quickly about the game:
​In Stamp Showdown, you’re competing in a high-profile stamp competition where only the most stunning collection will win. Each turn, trade stamps from your hand with the central trader’s market, curating your set while cleverly disrupting your opponents’. When the final showdown begins, only the most impressive combination will take the prize!
You can download the rules and play if with your River Rats deck or other playing cards right away:
Together with Rixt Heerschop (illustrator) and Florian Fiedler (graphic designer), we’ve started on creating the illustrations and the design of the cards.
This is only a first draft, but it will give you some idea of the style and feel of the cards.
We’re trying things out at the moment and would love to get your feedback on the design of the cards. Do you like the cutouts on the Q or having the value and pip inside the artwork like on the K?
Each card is a stamp. Each value has a theme, e.g. all 2s might be ‘ships’. And each suit will be a particular colour.
